the eyes that see
that the sight doesn't
tangled in an endless search

Ganpati Bappa Moraya!

our restless souls mingle
wandering eyes drink in the scenes
breathing in the vibrant air
we are isolated no more

petals burst from the bright skies
the breeze blends a dash of colors
hearts thump in rhythm with the drums
the hum of a euphoria builds

each face mirrors the other's joy
smeared in the same colors
dressed in the same petals
we dance

the constant struggle
of separating the blacks and whites
i finally embrace my colors

the sight limits
the night unsettles
the dark has no walls

The Red Wrap

the red wrap clings to me
like a hesitant child
like a defiant armour
like alluring gossamer

what does it hide?
what does it show?
what does it protect?
what does it defend?

a giggling prankster
a demure goddess
a proud survivor
an unsure woman

none of them
or all of them?

one wrap doesn't hide them all
one wrap doesn't show them all
one wrap doesn't protect them all
one wrap doesn't defend them all

so I have many others
have you seen my blue wrap?

I am ready

picking up old threads

finding a new weave

i am ready

feeling the surge

knocking me alive

i am ready

sensing the calm

a levitating moment

i am ready

experiencing the shift

a life in my womb

i am ready

embracing the vulnerabilities

shoulders rolled back

i am ready

silencing the demons

a song on my lips

i am ready

nurturing a love

powerful to outlive it all

i am ready

accepting to be a part

of a much larger entirety

i am ready

i am strong

i am fearless

i am ready

Stitched Together

a bright red and a subtle blue
dancing on the pallette
without a clue

one too blue and the other too red
too many unknowns
too many dreads

a soft brush pushes one to the other
a gentle mingle
behold, a beautiful purple

the red looks around
the blue searches too
can't find just one but always the two

a new blend, a new canvas
fluid but stitched together
red and blue
